This is Nio-mon Gate which leads the visitors to the precincts.

Its precincts are huge with many historical buildings.

The Shakado Hall designated as Important Cultural Property where Shaka-nyorai Buddha is enshrined.

The Kondo Hall (Main Hall) built in 1599 designated as National Treasure.

Issaikyozo Hall is also designated as Important Cultural Property

The three-storied pagoda built in 1601 also designated as Important Cultural Property. The sun light was not favorable for taking the pagoda….

The paths in the precincts. I had a pleasant walk in the comfortable afternoon.

Some other buildings.

Kangetsu-butai where visitors can enjoy the view of Lake Biwa and Otsu City.

This temple is famous of cherry blossom, but it was near to the end when I visited. I fund only a few trees which still kept their flowers.

Instead, I could enjoy new green leaves and azalea flowers.

I had a rest on the way in a tea house along the path in the precincts. I took hojicha (toasted-tea) and dango (rice-flour dumplings).

It takes only 40 minutes from Kyoto. This temple was very quiet during my visit while Kyoto was very busy. Please visit here to enjoy the calm atmosphere of historic temple.

End.
