Spot report – Joetsu Aquarium (2018-09-30)

Webmaster visited Joetsu Aquarium a few weeks ago. This aquarium was renovated and reopened last June.

This is the main aquarium in which sea lives of the Sea of Japan are kept. Visitors can observe the sea lives from various directions.

Dolphin pools are next to the main aquarium.

    

 

    

 

This aquarium has a long history of keeping Magellanic Penguins. There are about 120 individuals most of which were hatched here. According to the keeper, the oldest are about 30 years old.

    

 

    

 

And many other interesting water lives in smaller aquariums

   

 

In the courtyard, there are a touching pool and a feeding pool.

Kids were enjoying an interaction with sea lives.

   

 

In the feeding pool, there are so many colored carp which you can feed. A packet of pellets are sold for ¥100.

    

 

Visit Joetsu Aquarium. It’s very enjoyable!
